“Skills Development and Employment for Youth” was launched at Don Bosco Boys Town on 6th October 2022. This is an initiative of the Kenya Catholic Conference of Bishops (KCCB) in partnership with EDUKANS, an international education organization founded in the Netherlands and AFAS Foundation. EDUKANS promotes quality education and youth employability. They aim to create opportunities through a system change for marginalized children and youth through quality education, training and innovation for a better future in life and work as entrepreneurs. Boys Town was chosen as a model Technical school by the KCCB.
Those preset for the event were; Most Revered Philip Anyolo, the Arch Bishop of Nairobi, Rt. Rev. Paul Kariuki Njiru, Chairman of the Commission for Education and Religious education and Bishop of Embu, Chief guest Dr. Gichana, Director representing the TVET, Ministry of Education, Rev. Fr. Sellam Augustine, Vice Provincial of the Salesians of Don Bosco, East Africa, Kenya National Qualification Authority CEO, Dr. Eusebius; Technical Vocational Education Training Authority, Peter Bor, Global Edukans CEO madam Petra Van Haren, Edukans International Management Team, Edukans Kenya Staff, General Secretary KCCB, Rev. Fr. Lugonza, and KCCB Staff, Principals and Instructors and many other invited guests.
