Green TVET is a process of adapting knowledge and practices with the aim of aligning them the overall concept of sustainability. Greening TVET is considered as one of the holistic frameworks for smooth transition to sustainable and low carbon world in the TVET sector.
WHY GREEN TVET?
Technical and vocational education and training(TVET) is the strategic entry point for ensuring a world of work that contributes to social cohesion and promotes environmentally sound sustainable development. TVET and skills development initiatives play a significant role not only in developing human and social capital, but also in promoting necessary skills, knowledge and expertise needed for more sustainable societies and greener economies.
GREEN TVET will play significant roles in:
- Educating and training individuals to transition to a sustainable society
- making TVET input current and relevant for ongoing labor market regulations
- Instilling consciousness, motivation to develop a green culture.
