Electrical Installation Course (PropelA Dual Apprenticeship Programme)

Apprentices in the Electrical Installation Programme gain hands-on experience in the state-of-the-art workshops at Don Bosco Boys Town.

This comprehensive electrical installation curriculum is co-designed with the private sector to develop industry-ready professionals equipped with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required in modern electrical systems and technologies. The program blends hands-on technical training (3 weeks a month in a company) with essential theoretical foundations (1 week a month in school), safety standards, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Key areas of focus include:

  • Perform Industrial Wiring System and Electrical Machines Installation
  • Design, Install, Test, and Commission Solar PV Systems up to 100Wp
  • Maintaining a Healthy, Safe and Secure Working Place
  • Work Effectively with All Organisational Departments and Recognise the Importance of a Well-Balanced Competence Profile
  • Plan, Organise and Carry out Job Orders According to Specifications and Procedures
  • Identify Appropriate Working Materials, Handle Them Safely and Dispose Waste in Accordance with NEMA Regulations
  • Work Safely in Accordance with Organisational Safety Procedures
  • Identify and Use Appropriate Tools and Equipment According to OSHA and IEE Regulations
  • Upkeep, Care and Maintenance of Tools and Equipment
  • Perform Work-Related Calculations Accurately
  • Work with Non-Electrical Components and Interpret Electrical Parameters
