Course Overview
The Regular Electrical Engineering program at Don Bosco Boys Town is our foundation course, renowned for producing highly skilled technicians for the Kenyan industry. This program focuses on intensive workshop practice and solid theoretical grounding to prepare students for national examinations.
National Certification
Students in this pathway are prepared for certifications through NITA (National Industrial Training Authority) and KNEC (Kenya National Examination Council):
- NITA Grade III, II, & I: Focused on practical trade excellence.
- Artisan/Craft Certificate: A comprehensive 2-year technical curriculum.
What You Will Study
Domestic Installations
Single-phase wiring, lighting circuits, and protective device installation for residential buildings.
Industrial Power
Three-phase systems, motor control (Direct-on-Line, Star-Delta), and industrial switchgear.
Solar PV Systems
Installation and maintenance of solar panels, battery banks, and inverters for off-grid power.
Technical Drawing
Interpretation and design of electrical circuit diagrams and building service plans.
