Private Sector Engagement Officer
Location: Don Bosco Training Institute – Karen, Nairobi

Don Bosco Training Institute is looking for an energetic, well-connected and purpose-driven
Private Sector Engagement Officer to support the implementation of the PropelA Programme.
This role is for someone who enjoys meeting people, building relationships and turning
conversations into meaningful opportunities. You’ll work closely with employers, industry
associations, government agencies and training institutions to create apprenticeship and
workplace learning opportunities that prepare young people for successful careers.

What You’ll Be Doing
As the Private Sector Engagement Officer, you will play a key role in expanding Don Bosco’s
network of industry partners and strengthening the apprenticeship ecosystem under the
PropelA Program.
Your responsibilities will include:
Identifying and engaging employers across the Welding, Electrical and Plumbing sectors.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with private sector partners and industry
associations.
Coordinating apprenticeship placements and supporting employers throughout the
apprenticeship journey.
Facilitating partnership agreements and employer collaboration.
Working closely with NITA and other stakeholders to strengthen apprenticeship
delivery.
Monitoring partnership performance and documenting programme results, lessons
learned and success stories.
Representing Don Bosco at employer forums, networking events and industry
engagements.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should have:
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Education,
Development Studies or a related field.
At least five years’ experience in private sector engagement, business development,
employer engagement or partnership management.
Experience working with employers, industry associations or TVET institutions.
Strong networking, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
Knowledge of Kenya’s labour market and apprenticeship ecosystem. Experience with
donor-funded programmes will be an added advantage.
