On 8th August 2026, we were privileged to host a distinguished delegation from the Embassy of Israel in Kenya at Don Bosco Tech Kenya – Karen Campus, led by H.E. Gideon Behar, Ambassador of the State of Israel to Kenya.
We were equally honoured to welcome Nermine Khouzam Rubin, Founder and CEO of Water 4 Mercy, a visionary global humanitarian, author, and a Fortuna Global 100 Changemaker 2026.
The delegation spent valuable time with our Director, Fr. Jose, our trainers, and students, while experiencing firsthand the learning environment, classrooms, and practical workshops at Don Bosco Tech Kenya.
The visit provided an important opportunity to showcase how technical and vocational education and training (TVET) can equip young people with practical skills, confidence, and pathways toward meaningful employment and entrepreneurship.
From our classrooms to our workshops, the delegation witnessed the practical approach at the heart of our training learning by doing, building competence, and preparing young people for the world of work.
The presence of leaders working in diplomacy, humanitarian development, water access, innovation, and youth empowerment made the engagement particularly inspiring.
We are grateful to H.E. Ambassador Gideon Behar, Nermine Khouzam Rubin, and the entire delegation for taking the time to visit us, interact with our team, and experience the work being done at Don Bosco Tech Kenya.

VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT Private Sector Engagement Officer Location: Don Bosco Training Institute – Karen, Nairobi
Are you passionate about building partnerships that change lives? Don Bosco Training Institute is looking for an energetic, well-connected and purpose-driven Private Sector Engagement Officer to support the implementation of the PropelA Programme. This role is for someone who enjoys meeting people, building relationships and turning conversations into meaningful opportunities. You’ll work closely with employers, industry associations, government agencies and training institutions to create apprenticeship and workplace learning opportunities that prepare young people for successful careers. What You’ll Be Doing As the Private Sector Engagement Officer, you will play a key role in expanding Don Bosco’s network of industry partners and strengthening the apprenticeship ecosystem under the PropelA Program. Your responsibilities will include: Identifying and engaging employers across the Welding, Electrical and Plumbing sectors. Building and maintaining strong relationships with private sector partners and industry associations. Coordinating apprenticeship placements and supporting employers throughout the apprenticeship journey. Facilitating partnership agreements and employer collaboration. Working closely with NITA and other stakeholders to strengthen apprenticeship delivery. Monitoring partnership performance and documenting programme results, lessons learned and success stories. Representing Don Bosco at employer forums, networking events and industry engagements. Who We Are Looking For The ideal candidate is someone who: Enjoys engaging with people and building lasting professional relationships. Is confident approaching businesses and identifying partnership opportunities. Communicates clearly and professionally with stakeholders at all levels. Is organized, proactive and follows through on commitments. Believes in the power of technical and vocational education to transform lives.
Thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Qualifications To succeed in this role, you should have: A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Education, Development Studies or a related field. At least five years’ experience in private sector engagement, business development, employer engagement or partnership management. Experience working with employers, industry associations or TVET institutions. Strong networking, negotiation and stakeholder management skills. Knowledge of Kenya’s labour market and apprenticeship ecosystem. Experience with donor-funded programmes will be an added advantage.

Don Bosco Tech Africa, in collaboration with Don Bosco Tech Kenya – Karen Campus, hosted a delegation from the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) on Thursday, 28 May 2026, for a TVET benchmarking and consultative engagement visit aimed at fostering knowledge sharing and strengthening collaboration in technical and vocational education and training.
The visit provided an opportunity for the delegation to gain valuable insights into the establishment, management, and sustainability of quality TVET institutions. Key areas of discussion included institutional governance, infrastructure planning, equipment acquisition and maintenance, quality assurance systems, ICT integration, digital learning, industry partnerships, financial sustainability, and student support services.
During the engagement, the delegation toured the institution’s training facilities and interacted with members of the management and training teams to learn more about the systems, strategies, and best practices that have contributed to the success of the Don Bosco TVET model.
The visit reflected the growing recognition of Don Bosco institutions as centres of excellence in technical and vocational education and training. The delegation commended the institution’s commitment to quality, innovation, professionalism, and its holistic approach to skills development and youth empowerment.
As Kenya continues to strengthen its focus on skills development as a driver of socio-economic growth, such engagements provide valuable opportunities for collaboration, learning, and the exchange of best practices among institutions committed to advancing the TVET agenda.
