The visit provided an opportunity for the Geberit team to learn more about our institution, our technical training programmes and our commitment to equipping young people with practical skills for employment, entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods.

Geberit is known for supporting social projects and community initiatives in different parts of the world. Their visit to our Karen Campus provided an opportunity to explore areas of mutual interest and the potential for collaboration in skills development and community-focused initiatives.

During their visit, the team engaged with our institutional leadership, trainers and trainees, gaining valuable insight into our training environment and the practical approach we use to prepare young people for the world of work.

Don Bosco Tech Kenya – Karen Campus Hosts Polish Deputy Minister

Don Bosco Tech Kenya – Karen Campus was honoured to host Poland’s Deputy Minister, Mr. Wojciech Zajączkowski, on Thursday, 1 October 2026, during a visit that highlighted the strong partnership between Poland and Kenya through development cooperation.

The visit provided an important opportunity to showcase the various dimensions of Poland–Kenya cooperation, including bilateral relations, economic cooperation, development assistance and other areas where the two countries can work together to create sustainable impact.

Mr. Wojciech Zajączkowski, accompanied by the Polish Aid Team, visited several projects at our institution that have previously benefited from Polish support. The delegation toured our training and project areas in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Motor Vehicle Technology and Welding, gaining first-hand insight into the impact of this support on technical and vocational education.

During the visit, the delegation also had the opportunity to interact with our trainers and trainees, engaging in meaningful conversations about their experiences, practical training and the opportunities created through skills development.

For us at Don Bosco Tech Kenya – Karen Campus, the visit was a significant moment to demonstrate how international partnerships can contribute to strengthening technical education, improving learning environments and equipping young people with practical skills for employment and entrepreneurship.

We are deeply grateful to the Government of Poland and Polish Aid for their continued support towards skills development and technical education. Their partnership has contributed to creating opportunities for our trainees and strengthening our capacity to deliver quality, practical and industry-oriented training.

Rotary District Leadership Visits Don Bosco Tech Kenya – Karen Campus for Biogas Project Showcase

Don Bosco Tech Kenya – Karen Campus hosted Rotary Club of Karen and Rotary District officials on Wednesday, 30 September 2026, for a Cluster Project Visit showcasing the institution’s biogas project.

The visit brought together the District Governor, District officials and representatives from the three Rotary Clubs within the cluster, providing an important opportunity to showcase the progress and impact of the biogas project at Don Bosco.

The engagement highlighted the value of collaboration between educational institutions and community-focused organisations in developing practical and sustainable solutions to social and environmental challenges.

During the visit, the Rotary delegation had an opportunity to learn more about the biogas project, engage with the institution’s leadership and reflect on the importance of partnerships in creating solutions that can generate lasting benefits for communities.

For Don Bosco Tech Kenya – Karen Campus, hosting the Cluster Project Visit was an important opportunity to strengthen its relationship with Rotary and demonstrate how technical education, innovation and community partnerships can contribute to sustainable development.

Don Bosco Tech Kenya – Karen Campus was pleased to host Rosemary Odinga on 17 September 2026 at The Office Of The Director, Fr Jose PD, for an engaging visit focused on youth skills development, digital learning and the opportunities created through technology.

During her visit, Rosemary interacted with Secretarial students at the campus and toured the Green Virtual Computing Lab, where students are gaining practical exposure to AWS and other digital skills through a partnership with ThinTech Consulting.

The visit provided an opportunity to witness firsthand how young people are being equipped with relevant digital competencies that can prepare them for an increasingly technology-driven world of work.

Rosemary expressed her appreciation for the learning environment and the efforts being made to equip young people with practical skills. She encouraged the students to remain committed to learning, personal growth and making a positive contribution to society.

A Meaningful Evening of Global Impact at Don Bosco Tech Kenya – Karen Campus

On 8th August 2026, we were privileged to host a distinguished delegation from the Embassy of Israel in Kenya at Don Bosco Tech Kenya – Karen Campus, led by H.E. Gideon Behar, Ambassador of the State of Israel to Kenya.

We were equally honoured to welcome Nermine Khouzam Rubin, Founder and CEO of Water 4 Mercy, a visionary global humanitarian, author, and a Fortuna Global 100 Changemaker 2026.

The delegation spent valuable time with our Director, Fr. Jose, our trainers, and students, while experiencing firsthand the learning environment, classrooms, and practical workshops at Don Bosco Tech Kenya.

The visit provided an important opportunity to showcase how technical and vocational education and training (TVET) can equip young people with practical skills, confidence, and pathways toward meaningful employment and entrepreneurship.

From our classrooms to our workshops, the delegation witnessed the practical approach at the heart of our training learning by doing, building competence, and preparing young people for the world of work.

Don Bosco Training Institute is looking for an energetic, well-connected and purpose-driven
Private Sector Engagement Officer to support the implementation of the PropelA Programme.
This role is for someone who enjoys meeting people, building relationships and turning
conversations into meaningful opportunities. You’ll work closely with employers, industry
associations, government agencies and training institutions to create apprenticeship and
workplace learning opportunities that prepare young people for successful careers.

What You’ll Be Doing
As the Private Sector Engagement Officer, you will play a key role in expanding Don Bosco’s
network of industry partners and strengthening the apprenticeship ecosystem under the
PropelA Program.
Your responsibilities will include:
 Identifying and engaging employers across the Welding, Electrical and Plumbing sectors.
 Building and maintaining strong relationships with private sector partners and industry
associations.
 Coordinating apprenticeship placements and supporting employers throughout the
apprenticeship journey.
 Facilitating partnership agreements and employer collaboration.
 Working closely with NITA and other stakeholders to strengthen apprenticeship
delivery.
 Monitoring partnership performance and documenting programme results, lessons
learned and success stories.
 Representing Don Bosco at employer forums, networking events and industry
engagements.
Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate is someone who:
 Enjoys engaging with people and building lasting professional relationships.
 Is confident approaching businesses and identifying partnership opportunities.
 Communicates clearly and professionally with stakeholders at all levels.
 Is organized, proactive and follows through on commitments.
 Believes in the power of technical and vocational education to transform lives.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should have:
 A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Education,
Development Studies or a related field.
 At least five years’ experience in private sector engagement, business development,
employer engagement or partnership management.
 Experience working with employers, industry associations or TVET institutions.
 Strong networking, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
 Knowledge of Kenya’s labour market and apprenticeship ecosystem. Experience with
donor-funded programmes will be an added advantage.

Don Bosco Tech Africa, in collaboration with Don Bosco Tech Kenya – Karen Campus, hosted a delegation from the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) on Thursday, 28 May 2026, for a TVET benchmarking and consultative engagement visit aimed at fostering knowledge sharing and strengthening collaboration in technical and vocational education and training.

The visit provided an opportunity for the delegation to gain valuable insights into the establishment, management, and sustainability of quality TVET institutions. Key areas of discussion included institutional governance, infrastructure planning, equipment acquisition and maintenance, quality assurance systems, ICT integration, digital learning, industry partnerships, financial sustainability, and student support services.

During the engagement, the delegation toured the institution’s training facilities and interacted with members of the management and training teams to learn more about the systems, strategies, and best practices that have contributed to the success of the Don Bosco TVET model.

The visit reflected the growing recognition of Don Bosco institutions as centres of excellence in technical and vocational education and training. The delegation commended the institution’s commitment to quality, innovation, professionalism, and its holistic approach to skills development and youth empowerment.

As Kenya continues to strengthen its focus on skills development as a driver of socio-economic growth, such engagements provide valuable opportunities for collaboration, learning, and the exchange of best practices among institutions committed to advancing the TVET agenda.
